DECORATING AND ARRANGING BEDSITTERS

We all, okay maybe not all but some of us will pass that stage where you will have to live in a bedsitter before moving to say a bigger house. mostly happens when we are young  and in our twenties. Living in a bedsitter doesn't mean you live in a crammed space and disarranged furniture clothes and everything lying around. This post will focus on how to creatively utilize the space you  have in your bedsitter.

first things first, say you're living alone in your bedsitter, invest in a small bed, that you can fit in and that is comfortable for you. to create an illusion of space you would rather have a metallic bed than a wooden one. this will also help while cleaning and keeping the room neat as the bed will be easier to move and clean out the corners. And according to  me, I think metal furniture is more long lasting and easier to maintain.
you can get a bed from your furniture store, go for a simple design while choosing one, it's advisable to keep it simple when decorating or arranging furniture in a small space.

the next thing one would need is a desk, one that would serve all purposes from reading, to applying makeup, writing etc. so here choose a desk that has compartments, this would ease up on storage space, this should also come with a seat.its advisable to place it near the bed but not too close.

another thing you can consider is fixing wall cabinets. these you can do on both sides of the wall. here you can put your personal stuff, put them on the sleeping area, you should put one in the kitchen area to ease on placing of dishes.you can paint the cabinets in line with the color theme you have chosen for your room.

invest in a small carpet or rug to place near your bed or sitting area, don't let it be big, it will eat up on the small floor space area you have, thus making your room look crammmed up, just a small one will do.

for your tv you can place it on the wall. you can get one sofa and a coffee table if you have enough space left after arranging,. other than that keep the furniture less. you can get a single wardrobe to put your clothes in. or rather get a bed that has cabinets for storing clothes, but that would mean you go for a wooden bed, which is still good if you get the right type.
remember to keep the lighting bright for ease of access and movement and create an illusion of space.
because each house is differently built before one moves in, i will post pictures that can give you ideas on how to make your own little living space a haven of peace :)
